FAITH Under Construction

FAITH Under Construction

Faith is hard. And the most difficult truth about faith is that it won’t answer all of your questions in life and it won’t solve all of your problems, either. Faith is about trust, not about being certain . . . and that’s not how we hoped faith worked.

We talk a lot about building our faith, but when God is at work in our lives, there seems to be a lot more demolition going on. “Faith Under Construction” is a devotional that will begin the renovation of your soul and prepare it for the building that will take place throughout the rest of your life. Bestselling Christian Living author, Cherie Hill, takes your soul into the depths of faith, and the excavation will bring about a transformation of your spirit that is stable and secure, ready for anything.

About the Author

I’m just a sinner, saved by God’s AMAZING grace, with one desire: for my life to be poured out as a servant to Christ, in order to bring glory to God.

God has given me the great joy of spreading His Word around the world through Scripturenow.com And even though I have a BA in Psychology and I’m trained in Biblical Counseling through the AACC . . . it is truly God who has qualified me, through my daily surrender, as I walk intimately with Him one day at a time.

In the most amazing journey of my life, God has seen fit to make me an International Bestselling Christian Living author. More miraculously, I’ve been ranked #4 in Bestselling authors for Amazon in the Religion and Spirituality category. Truly, God still does miracles. (It’s ONLY by the grace of God that I am who I am. 1 Corinthians 15:10) In the words of Charles Spurgeon, “My books are my tools.”–the tools that God has seen fit to take my pain and use it for His gain. All the glory goes to Him.

The Glasses We Wear: Reflections On Christian Worldview

The Glasses We Wear: Reflections On Christian Worldview

The glasses we wear change everything about us. . .

Did you know that each one of us wears glasses? Even if you have 20/20 vision, you wear worldview glasses, a particular set of lenses through which you view the world and interpret life. For example, how do you see God? Is He loving, relational, cruel, distant, or maybe just imaginary? And how do you see yourself? As a good person who is in control, happy, and living with purpose? Or instead as insignificant, lost, or broken? The answers to these questions have life-changing implications and deserve careful consideration.

The good news is, you can change your glasses. . .

Using concise chapters, reflective poetry, and thoughtful study questions, Michael G. Garland invites you to see the world through a different set of glasses. While exploring the Christian perspective, The Glasses We Wear will challenge you to examine closely the lens through which you see God, the world, and yourself.

Courtship in Crisis: The Case for Traditional Dating

Courtship in Crisis: The Case for Traditional Dating

The Experiment Failed
In the 1990s, a huge movement swept through America. Millions of young people stopped dating and embraced something new called “courtship” which promised to usher singles into marriage while avoiding the dangers of dating. It sounded wonderful.

The problem? It didn’t work.
The resulting singleness epidemic left a generation with broken hearts and little hope.

There’s Another Way
In Courtship In Crisis, Thomas Umstattd Jr. explains where the courtship crisis came from, and why it failed. More importantly, he lays out an alternative model that works.
“Courtship in Crisis is a well-reasoned, Spirit-infused breath of fresh air for anyone wanting to re-think their dating habits.”
— Mary DeMuth, author of The Wall Around Your Heart

Mount Zion: Discovering the Keys to Praying for Revival

Mount Zion: Discovering the Keys to Praying for Revival

The idea that ‘Prayer is a key’ to revival does not tell us how to pray or the important basic things that we must grasp in order to live a transforming and influential prayer life. On the other hand, the keys of prayer lead us to the practical things that help us to pray, and what we must do to teach or to learn about prayer. This is a teaching on the keys of prayer with living examples of how prayer is a key. This method makes teaching or learning about prayer more powerful and practical.

‘Prayer is a Key’ gives enthusiasm and encouragement but it does not give a foundation on which to build a life of prayer, and enthusiasm that does not find a foundation does not last long. In order to continue, it needs enthusiasm to be continually aroused, but the foundation, which is learning about the keys of prayer, even if enthusiasm is not aroused, produces the fruit of enthusiasm and encouragement.

From the Author
One day a little boy walked into my thoughts. He was wearing ragged clothes, his hair was a tangled mop and he was holding an injured kitten. I wondered what had happened to him and where he found the kitten?

From that came A Silence in the Heart. This is a romance and I know I probably should have started out with the hero and heroine but Kent, the little boy, plays a large part in the story. He’s the catalyst for David and Tracy to spend time together as they try to help him. He helps Tracy lower the barriers she’s placed around her heart after having it broken by a mother who disappointed her once too many times and a ex-fiancee who was ashamed of Tracy’s background. But as Tracy lets David get close she finds out about his previous girlfriend and how perfect she was. And Tracy wonders if she dares let David find out about her own past. And her mother.
A Silence in the Heart was put out previously by Harlequin Love Inspired and when I got the rights back to the story, I updated it and rewrote it to make it fit into my Holmes Crossing setting.
I hope you enjoy reading David and Tracy’s story and your time spent back in Holmes Crossing.
