Emma Lapp’s life and faith are forever changed the day that her husband, Harley Lapp, is tragically killed during a hunting accident with his best friend, John King. She does her best to cope with the grief of moving on with life, and accepting that her late husband is now in the loving arms of Gott. She believes that will never find another husband, but all that changes when an English man by the name of Trey Stone moves into a farm neighboring her Amish community in Monte Vista, Colorado.
She finds herself drawn to Trey who offers her a job as a nanny for his two daughters who are also dealing with their own grief of losing their mother. His children quickly grow attached to Emma’s nurturing ways as she provides a much needed stability for them.
Emma struggles with her brewing attraction for Trey because it means being shunned from her community. Things take an even more complicated turn when she discovers that she is pregnant with a bobli.
Will Emma decide to turn her back on her Amish roots? Or will she turn her back on Trey?
